Orientation and Transition Days

A child's first year at school can set the tone for the rest of their school life. Belrose aims to provide all Kindergarten students with a firm foundation in basic skills and also to ensure a happy, well-adjusted and positive attitude to learning and playing at school.

Orientation morning for Kindergarten takes place early in Term 4 prior to their entry to school. At this time a 3-week transition to school program commences in which children engage in a range of classroom-based activities that are designed to help them become familiar with the school's classrooms, playground, teachers and fellow students.

An information program for parents is held early in Term 1 as children settle into their first year at school. This comprises information sessions on the teaching of literacy and mathematics, general class routines, health and hygiene, and school life in general. Parents are also invited to a morning tea with the principal.
